At The Tonight Show, I had the chance to work cross-functionally with the research and production departments, as well as the supervising producer's office. This internship gave me a firsthand look at the fast-paced world of late-night TV, where I collaborated with producers to research guests, stood in for actors during rehearsals, and worked closely with high-profile talent. It was an incredible experience that allowed me to be part of a dynamic, creative team, and I loved every moment of contributing to the show's production.

Research

Gathered and synthesized over 25+ interviews daily from YouTube and TV networks, focusing on upcoming celebrity guests, press releases, and viral social content. This research played a key role in preparing for the show’s segments and creating interview questions, contributing to more than 150 research packets for season 12 of The Tonight Show.

Production

I worked cross-functionally with all departments on the show, including talent, producers, script, and crew, in a fast-paced environment to ensure everything ran smoothly.

I created a daily beat sheet for the staff including news headlines, viral social moments and ideas to help curate and shape creative segments for the show.

As a production assistant, I supported both studio and remote shoots, standing in for actors and assisting with rehearsals for monologues, games, and bits.

During my spring semester, I worked closely with the executive producer, supporting a range of tasks directly related to the host, including handling confidential projects, coordinating urgent runs for the show, and working with high-profile talent.
